CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE

It is hard to believe that it is ten years since the commencement of the Queensland Supply Chain and Logistics Conference. When you look back and reflect... how far have we really come?

Whilst this event may have started with humble beginnings, we have always had the strategic view of collaboration amongst the participating industry associations and bringing all aspects of the Supply Chain, Logistics and Procurement sectors together at the same time. I certainly believe that we have achieved this.

For the delegates we have always intended to provide an event that offers value for money, education and professionalism: all the while addressing contemporary issues relevant to the profession and the individual.

In true Queensland style, our focus has been to provide a unique educational environment that is fun, relaxed and enjoyable; one that allows you to network and learn from others. This difference is second to none in Australia and something that we are extremely proud of.

None of this would be achievable without the strong support of our great partners. Some of them have been with us since we started ten years ago and a special thanks must go out to Haymans Electrical, ProcureNetand Trades and Labour Hire who have been with us since inception. This is a true indication of the value that partners receive from being a part of this event.

Our inaugural event was held at BardonProfessional Centre with 120 people participating, we used trestle tables for the exhibition stands and name tags didn’t arrive until the morning tea on Day One! We have certainly come a long way since then and what you see today, ten years later, is a highly professional event which is one-of-its kind in this country. All the while being managed and organised through the passion and dedication of a strong volunteer committee.

We are unique with our initiatives including the generous support of charities, our annual dinner, the introductionof the Queensland T&L Awards, the WOW factor and the high-quality speakers program that provides both professional and self-development. These are all ingredients of what makes this such a successful conference; one that we believe will continue to do so for the next ten years and beyond.

I would like to personally thank all of our partners for their continued support, and to our wonderful speakers for taking time out of their busy schedules to tell their story and last but not least, sincere gratitude to the marvellous committee who made this all happen.
